Founded in 1915, the Institute for Supply Management or ISM is a non-profit association to support and educate people in the field of supply management. Their mission statement is “to lead and serve” these individuals as well as training new leaders and supply management professionals to excel in their careers. The ISM provides training and membership for professionals at all levels and certification for those with at least three years of experience in the field of supply management.
Monthly reports, podcasts, and webcasts are also available through their website providing timely information on the industry as a whole. Internationally recognized, the ISM has affiliates in more than 80 countries and according to their website is the oldest association of its kind.
